The Reader and more...

I guess CNY was a standard event for most of us - Reunion dinner, visitations and lots of makan and be fat! So I shall not elaborate much on all these SOP. Just the day before reunion dinner, I met up with Grace for some catching up and THE READER.

The story was based in 1950s in Germany. I enjoyed the movie but the only thing I could not understand is how a guy could love a woman, who is twice his age, so deeply, even after so many years. Also I was quite grossed out by Kate Winslet's naked body. Ermmm.. it's just not hot! Grace told me that Kate's role was supposed to be Nicole Kidman's but the latter was pregnant that time so she could not take on this role. It would be so much better if it were Nicole.. plus her body is way hotter than Kate.. hehe...

After that I went for my IPL at Wheelock Place before having dinner with Baby at Sun with Moon. Dinner was good but not great.

This supposed to be Wagyu beef but its quality and bite is way below Wagyu. Not nice!

The california roll was good and very fresh. I enjoyed every bit of it.

Baby had beef soba. Very normal but the soba was good.

I had the Hokkaido Ramen. This is quite good but I find the ramen too starchy.

I love the egg! Hard boiled egg but with half cook yolk... the way I like it!

Total bill. Normal price for a mid range restaurant.

Dunno if I'm the Sua Gu, but I just found out that Marks & Spencer's ice cream is damn shiok! Baby and I bought these two flavours yesterday at M&S Great World.

Really nice! Won't lose out to Andersen or Ben & Jerry... They have many other flavours too...

Tomorrow is back to work. Luckily it's jus another two days before weekend again!

K will be parading at Chingay so Baby and I got complimentary tickets to watch her at the parade this Friday. She supposed to be a fairy on the Youth @ Wonderland "Garden of Youth" float, but she was too short with all the big flowers surrounding so in the end she's one of the elves with the float. Hope I could capture K, as clear as what Cherry complimented on Andy Lau's concert, with my Lumix on that day.. hehe...

Chingay Parade will be held for two days (30 & 31 Jan 09). TV telecast will be on Sun, 1 Feb 09. Official website HERE.

And then the fight started...

My wife sat down on the couch next to me as I was flipping channels.
She asked, 'What's on TV?'
I said, 'an inch of dust!!'
And then the fight started...

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, 'I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds.'
I bought her a scale.
And then the fight started...

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive... so, I took her to a gas station.
And then the fight started...

My wife and I were sitting at a table at my high school reunion, and I kept staring at a drunken lady swigging her drink as she sat alone at a nearby table.
My wife asked, 'Do you know her?'
'Yes,' I sighed, 'She's my old girlfriend. I understand she took to drinking right after we split up those many years ago, and I hear she hasn't been sober since.'
'My God!' says my wife, 'who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?'
And then the fight started...

I took my wife to a restaurant. The waiter, for some reason, took my order first.
"I'll have the strip steak, medium rare, please."
He said, "Aren't you worried about the mad cow?"
"Nah, she can order for herself."
And then the fight started...

A woman is standing nude, looking in the bedroom mirror. She is not happy with what she sees and says to her husband, 'I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.'
The husband replies, 'Your eyesight's damn near perfect.'
And then the fight started.....

A man and a woman were asleep like two innocent babies. Suddenly, at 3 o'clock in the morning, a loud noise came from outside. The woman, bewildered, jumped up from the bed and yelled at the man 'Holy crap. That must be my husband!'
So the man jumped out of the bed; scared and naked jumped out the window. He smashed himself on the ground, ran through a thorn bush and to his car as fast as he could go.
A few minutes later he returned and went up to the bedroom and screamed at the woman, 'I AM your husband!'
The woman yelled back, 'Yeah, then why were you running?'
And then the fight started.....

I asked my wife, "Where do you want to go for our anniversary?"
It warmed my heart to see her face melt in sweet appreciation. "Somewhere I haven't been in a long time!" she said.
So I suggested, "How about the kitchen?"
And that's when the fight started....

My wife and I are watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed. I turned to her and said, "Do you want to have sex?"
"No," she answered.
I then said, "Is that your final answer?"
She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying "Yes."
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."
And that's when the fight started....

Singapore Tattoo Show

Went to the Tattoo Show on Sat, 10 Jan. It was held for 3 days from 9 - 11 Jan 09. I went there early afternoon to meet Penny as she was helping out. It was quite a spectacular event but some booths were totally neglected - quite poor thing coz they flew from other countries to set up a booth here and nobody patronize them. Below were some pictures of the event:

This is Chris Garver from Miami Ink. Baby likes him for his tiger tattoos. Check out his website HERE.

He dun even need to take any tattoo jobs coz he was there the full 3 days just signing autographs on his posters and taking pictures with people, who bought his poster at S$20 each. I heard from Penny that his posters were selling for S$10 each on the 1st day and was increased the next day. The queue was crazily long and it's non stop. He even had to take breaks in between to rest his hands from all the signing. Mad or what!

The judges for the competition. Chris Garver was once of them.

Bob Tyrrell is one of the famous artists. He is well known for portraits tattoo.. Did not get a chance to take a picture of him and his works. Check out his website HERE

The one on the left is Xiao Long (Paul Booth's apprentice) and right is Paul Booth. Xiao Long is so good that he outlines his drawing directly on the person's skin (no tracing needed)!

This is Paul Booth. He is apparently a world famous artist. And his works are so "unique" that people call them satanic. Check out his website HERE.

Penny's friend had his tattoo done at Tattoo Magic from Australia.

It's actally an abstract of a skull with leaves & vines.

Nice full body tattoo. He was displaying himself for picture taking. Cool! haha...

There were some other really nice back tattoos, which appeared in newspapers like the Underwater World with dolphins and fishes on a woman's back from Taiwan. The tattoo really looked like it came alive.. too bad I did not have a chance to get a snapshot.

Overall it was a cool experience seeing all sorts of people and tattoos. I might go back again if it's happening next year. But I doubt some of the overseas participants will want to come back - especially those who got no business at all during those 3 days...

Caught CHANGELING at GV Grand yesterday.

A true story about how a simple fragile woman became courageous and go all out to find her missing son, facing all the corrupted authorities. Angelina Jolie is not only good at action movies, she portrayed this motherly role really well and her tears were like running tap - on and off instantly! And I have to say it's a MUST WATCH for everyone - especially parents!

I'm so happy that I've watched yet another great movie, after Seven Pounds.

7 Pounds

Watched SEVEN POUNDS sometime back but have not gotten a chance to blog about it. If you like "Pursuit of Happyness", this is even better. I can only say it's meaningful, inspirational and emotional. I was curious why it's called 7 Pounds so I went to google and finally found the actual meaning to it, and it's so so appropriate to the show. You will be able to relate if you understand the show. Will Smith's acting skill is so good that every twitch of his face got me into the emo mode!

I won't reveal much but only give you 4 words: DIE DIE MUST WATCH!
