(Click to enlarge, save, print and use)

Have a great weekend!

Dachshund & Pink the Pig

Got this from email. Dunno who the originator was so can't credit. If anyone knows who is the creator, let me know so I could credit accordingly.

This Dachshund is fostering this little guy for another mom who couldn't take care of him. He had his eyes closed, but now they are opened. He is just a little bigger than her other pups. She loves this little guy as much as the other puppies and she is nursing him back to health. He is the cleanest pig-uppy ever because she licks him all the time. HIS NAME IS PINK....

Sweet or what!

Kung Fu Chefs

Went for the KUNG FU CHEFS (so sad - no official website) Gala Premier yesterday at Orchard Cineleisure.

*Opens today

IMO: Ridiculous movie. I knew it's a comedy but never expected it to be that dumb! You will feel so silly even when you laugh at the so called funny scenes.. It's literally like "WTF am I even laughing". Luckily tickets were free.. Not worth watching (not even if it's S$7.50) unless you are Vanness Wu's fans.

My Tear Stains - BEFORE & AFTER

Woof it's me again! Gosh! Late last year, I had been "suffering" yet again from tear stains since the last one during my puppyhood. See below on how bad it was

That time, Mummy managed to clear all traces of stains by cleaning my eyes day and night religiously with the Nova Tear Stain Remover and it worked really well, thou I really hated it whenever she came to me with the cotton pad and solution, but I knew it was for my own good.

So when my recent tear stains came back, Mummy used the same solution but was not working at all. She dunno what caused it and you know we white dogs cannot afford to have tear stains! She researched online and even asked our regular pet food supplier, Jie Jie Isabel and was told that Timberwolf dry food could cause tear stains in SOME dogs. We could not believe it coz I had been feeding on this premium brand for many years and everything was just fine... Mummy did not think the culprit was Timberwolf and tried to stop feeding me other TREATS and stuff, even supplements, in case they were caused by these things instead. So you could imagine how dejected I was coz I was not pampered with goodies for quite a while! Everyone at home was not allowed to feed me anything, except the proper meals prepared by Mummy! She also bought different brands of Tear Stain Removers to try on me like guinea pig, hoping one of them would work on me (she's tat Kiasu when it comes to me!) but nothing helps in preventing that awful tears from appearing, and it got worse thru out the day. I looked like I cried the whole day and Mummy would gross out whenever she saw me at the end of the day.

So this month she started thinking about Jie Jie Isabel's comments about Timberwolf, then decided to change my kibbles brand, and after some recommendation from Jie Jie, she started feeding me Addiction kibbles, along with their dehydrated food, which I had been consuming for the past few months, praying it would improve my condition. And guess what? TADA! My tear stains indeed improved tremendously! Not much tearing occurs now! We were elated - especially Mummy! I was happy coz it meant that I could have my yummy treats back in action!

Some of you should know, Dr Ly is the creator of Addiction food and we have been consulting Dr Ly since my 2 operations and in Mummy's opinion, he is still the best vet. Without Dr Ly, I think I might not be a happy dog now, seriously. The best part is we realised not only is Dr Ly's veterinary skills good, his ranges of food work for me too! Since they do wonders for me, I shall not be selfish and share what I have been feeding on, hoping it will work for all of you woofies out there..

DRY FOOD (KIBBLES)

DEHYDRATED FOOD

More info HERE

This might not work for everyone coz you know different dogs react differently to products so I can only hope the above could be an alternative solution for you!

Mummy did not take a lot of pictures of my awful state coz I think she dun really had mood for that! Taking a shot of my ugly face then was like taking shit from the toilet bowl! lol.. Take a look at some of my BEFORE and current AFTER pictures below..

BEFORE
(At this stage my tear stains were not that bad already but it keeps coming back - right eye worse than left )

Yummy!

Female Drivers!!!

I know I belong to the same species but the above is really OMG! Luckily I dun and dun like to drive!

He's Just Not That Into You & The Wrestler

*Warning: Rantings Ahead*

Last Sat went to GV Marina with Grace to watch HE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU. I have to say it's just not my day. This was the first time I encountered such a terrible cock up!

Earlier in that week I booked the tickets online as usual for 115pm show so later in that evening I got a call from GV to inform that the show time is actually 1pm instead and asked if I was OK. I told them OK so I assumed everything IS ok but it was obviously not on the actual day. Already there was a commotion coz there was only one staff at the counter mending both the walk-in and internet/tel booking queue so people dunno where they should queue and a conflict started between an Ang Moh and a Chinese lady, arguing about where they should queue and all. It lasted for a good 5mins. After a while, another staff came out to open a new counter and it was my turn to collect ticket and my oh my, they could not trace my booking! They checked every monitor and still cannot find it. I was already quite pissed coz I hate to hog queue plus after tat freaking commotion, now this! Luckily I had the free SMS confirmation in my phone and I showed it to them to prove that I did make the booking. I suspect this cock up was due to the change of show timing. Eventually they still could not find my booking and offered new seats for me. What's worse? No tickets issued - just a pathetic piece of written confirmation (as below) and they had to escort us in to the theatre! WTF! Damn paiseh lar!

*This is the pathetic ticket!

So anyway we were seated and had a bad feeling this was not the end. Women have such great intuition I tell you! True enough, just 5mins before the show started, 3 gals came and told us they had been allocation to our seats! I was like all ready to @#$%^&* people upside down coz the show was starting very soon (I hate to miss any part of a movie) and I had to deal with more nonsense! But I tolerated (I'm usually not very patient when it comes to such things) and told the usher that this was what I was given when the counter screwed up my booking. She brought my so called "ticket" and theirs for a check and quite quickly came back informing me that ours was correct and apparently issued new seats for the 3 gals, which were further infront, nearer to the screen, even thou there were quite a few empty seats (single and double thou) in my row. Guess they were kinda guilty for causing that blunder and didn't want/dare to ask me to shift to create 3 seats for them. Those seats were still empty at the end of the show. Oh well... it was a really friggin bad day for me.. dun think I will patronis GV Marina for a while.

Anyway back to the movie... well I would have guessed as much how bimbotic the show would turn out but I must say some parts were kinda true and touching, quite funny too... It's definitely not worth S$10. Luckily now Baby had gotten the HSBC movie card so we only need to pay S$7.50 per person, which is really a great deal! For the movie goers, I seriously think it saves us a lot of monies... totally worth it! We are now on our 2nd card.. cool!

Next day Baby and I caught THE WRESTLER at Cathay Cineplex.

I enjoyed the show and thought it had a meaningful story. Initially I was kinda worried that there would be a lot of wrestling scenes but luckily it only took up the first and last part of the show. I'm not exactly a WWF fan but somehow or rather I wanted to watch it coz from what I read on the synopsis, it was not a pure wrestling show. In fact it had a touching story line with quite a bit of self reflections and emotions involved. Worth watching.

Last Evacuation Drill

In a large multinational company..............

A fire alarm rang at 4PM in a large office when almost all employees were in office (approx 5000). As usual the entire office was evacuated within 3mins & all employees gathered outside the office in the designated area waiting for further announcement.

The Security Officer in charge made the following announcement:

"Dear employees - with sincere regret I have been asked to announce that for many of you it will be your last evacuation drill.. Due to the recession the company is laying off almost 50% of its employees. So when this announcement finishes, I ask all of you to move back into the building and if your swipe card does not work then it means you have been laid off in which case you will not be allowed inside and all your belongings will be couriered to you by tomorrow.

The Company has used this innovative approach as we didn't want to fill up the email box with lay-off mails and good bye mails in thousands & also to avoid any fight inside the office and the consequent security issue for all staff.

Hope you have had a rewarding career with us and all the best ahead.

Please move back in & try your luck."

Valentine's Special Video by Muttons at Midnight!

Sorry it's too late to post this up.. I wish I could share this before Valentine's Day!

Anyway I guarantee it's freaking funny! Enjoy.

In case if you dunno what are the songs featured:

Apologise -One Republic

You're Beautiful - James Blunt

The Reason - Hoobastank (lyrics below)
I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go

That I just want you to know
I've found out a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is you

Marley & Me - FINALLY!

Woot! The long awaited movie, MARLEY & ME, finally arrives since my last post about wanting so much to catch it when it's released in Singapore. Caught the super sneak preview yesterday with Baby at PS.

Dog movies are always very heartwarming and almost every show comes with a sad ending, including this of course. I was rather affected by the ending, so overwhelmed with emotions that I cried really hard... Either Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson are damn good actors or it's just the fact that it's a true story, which made it even more heart wrenching. I would say the 2 most difficult parts for me to withhold my tears was that moment when John Grogan (Owen), at the vet clinic, spoke on phone with Jenny (Jennifer) discussing Marley's condition with a heavy heart and also the part when he had private moments with Marley on his death bed. The heartache and pain that he portrayed, only dog owners/lovers can relate, even more so for those who had been thru the same situation. That was the last straw.. I could not control anymore and let go...

On the lighter side, puppy Marley was damn cute lar! And YES very naughty too, but in a very comical and cute way. At the scene where all the puppies were displayed for sale, everyone in the cinema "Awwwwww" in accordance! It's jus so natural for most of us to react the same way.. those little cuties were just too adorable to resist! If you watch carefully, when Jenny stepped in to play with the pups, there was this particular one among them that slouched and lie face down besides Jennifer Aniston, with a damn sad face, like saying "Why nobody plays with me?" Soooo CUTE!

I enjoyed the show thou a lot of facts from the book were not in the movie and not every detail was according to the book, which I guess, is always the case, for most movies based on true story.. and my head hurts like hell when I came out from the theatre. Must be the tears controlling and all that caused the headache.. haha

I strongly think that every dog owner/lover should watch it! For those who have not read the book, please do coz there are so much more information in there, which you would want to know, if you are really interested to identify with Marley, the neroutic and world's worst dog!

Slumdog Milliionaire - GOOD!

Caught yet another great Oscar's winning film, SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.

Please do not stereotype and think "Oh must be another typical Indian show lar". This was the reaction I gathered from people when I told them about this movie. I have to say this show has a very good story plot, thou rather unrealistic I must say. It's not just about love, love and love.. and yeah the very "Indian" dancing portion came ONLY at the end of it and it's was just a small part. Oh well, it's Indian movie lor.. it's not whole without the dancing rite.. haha.

I totally enjoyed watching coz it was a different kinda Indian movie anyone has watched. Catch it and you will know what I mean :)

Another Credit Card Scam!

Extracted from forwarded email.. Apparently this happened in Singapore.. True or not, I guess it's better to be safe than sorry..

Hi everyone,

I want to let you all know that my husband and I have been the victims of credit card fraud this week and felt I should warn you all about the clever scam. It works like this:

Last Wednesday I had a phone call late morning from Express Couriers to ask if I was going to be home as he had a delivery for me. He said he would there in roughly an hour. He turned up with a beautiful basket of flowers and wine. I expressed my surprise as I wasn't expecting anything like this and said I was intrigued to know who was sending me such a lovely gift. He said he was only delivering the gift and the card was being sent separately (the card has never arrived). There was a consignment note with the gift. He went on to explain that because the gift contained alcohol he has to charge the recipient $3.50 as proof that he has actually delivered to an adult, and not left it on a door step if the recipient is out, to be stolen or taken by children. This seemed logical and I offered to get the cash. He then said that the company required the payment to be by Eftpos so he's not handling cash and everything is properly accounted for. My husband was there and got his credit card and 'John' swiped the card on this small mobile machine that also had a small screen upon which my husband entered in his pin number. A receipt was printed out and given to us.

Between last Thursday and Monday $4,000 was withdrawn from our credit account at ATM machines in the north shore area. It appears a dummy credit card was made using the details in the machine and of course, they had my husband's pin number. The Bank has stopped our cards and I've been to the Police this morning, where they confirmed that it is a definite scam and many households were hit during the first 3 days of October.

So PLEASE be wary of accepting a gift you're not expecting especially if the card is not with it. We've all received gifts like this and would never dream that it could be such a despicable act. Please also let other female friends and relatives know. Hopefully, these fraudsters have ceased this activity by now but you never know. I wanted to warn all my friends.

Pet Farm deserves it THIS TIME!

I was freaking pissed when Penny showed me this article. All current and potential dog owners, please read and learn something. Georgi was also bought from this pet shop and seriously speaking I was not very pleased with their after service too.. But I'm just glad Gboy was overall healthy thou with minor problems here and there, which were resolvable. This poor fellow's a Japanese Spitz too.. SIGH!

(2 pages - Click each to enlarge)

Just 3 years back, after losing Spunky, my ex colleague, Melanie's poodle case (having problem with the hyperlink - click on "Spunky's Case" on the right navigator under "Records Homes" to read up on his case) on the same deadly virus, we were really disheartened with the authorities coz this was not a joke and people dun understand the seriousness of it! Melanie fought so hard during that time, found evidence, researched and did what she could but still did not managed to put that particular pet shop down and they got away scot free, causing not only one but numerous death from Parvovirus. How terrible was that!

Please know that most of dog owner's ultimate purpose of fighting cases like this was not to get any form of monetary compensation.. rather it's to highlight to relevant authorities (we just want them to be in charge) and warn pet shop owners to be more responsible with their animals (even if it's for SALE!) and not just shun responsibilities when things happened. The pet shop owners should in the first place be preventing such unfortunate incidents from even happening! I think the agreement should be more comprehensive, not only to protect the pet shop/farm but to protect the owners too. Also punishment for such irresponsible acts should not be based solely on compensation, licence suspension should be brought in too!

I'm just so glad this case finally brought justice after so many complaints that failed to bring light (imagine from 30 cases in 2005 to 83 cases now!) Moving forward, I really hope the authorities will be stricter with these pet shops or farms. Pet abandonment is already increasing like nobody's business, we do not want death cases to accelerate too!

To side track abit since I'm on pet's topic, pet abandonment is another thing that pisses me off big time! You always see a lot of campaigns and roadshows on pet responsibility - who cares right?? Doing these are definitely not sufficient to enforce anything - who bothers to listen to "craps" and YES to many people these preachings were craps. People need to be taught lessons thru the hard way literally. I feel there should be a clause that represents something along this line: "Should the owner at anytime decides to abandon the pet (e.g. send to SPCA), he/she should provide for the pet for the rest of their life." You buy the pet you are accountable to take care of the pet. Want to throw them away? Can... provide for them for life then! I think this would help to reduce impulsive buying.

WTF! While typing this I was boiling inside and I'm still super pissed!

Potential owners:
Please do not buy pets on impulse! They are not toys!

Shop/farm owners:
Pets are not "PRODUCTS" - jus simply buy and sell! Please do not disregard the lives of pets!

Bosses have their embarrassing moments too.....

Today the boss called me to his office to help scan some of his graduation photos for one of his presentations.. and he warned me not to laugh when I see them (I could tell he was quite embarrassed). He was really smart to tell me beforehand.. otherwise I would be laughing my ass off when I witness his "glorious" days!! He also told me not to let other people see.. hahaha.. how tempting really!

And again he warned, "Don't laugh ar." when he handed me the photos.. He followed with, "See.. I was a young man and so slim last time..."

LOL! I knew he was just trying to ease off the embarrassment. This is what will happen when one rely too much on secretary. I bet he would rather scan those photos himself if he had a choice! haha.. Luckily, with his early warning, I was able to refrain myself from bursting out (but inside already LOL).. you should see how cool I looked!

I'm so so tempted to show you guys the photos but I guess to secure my rice bowl, in this economy, is very crucial now.. haha

Doubt & The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Caught two great movies last weekend.

A little late for me to watch this but I had no regrets. A show of controversy. The answers seemed to be there but it would still leave some of you guessing in the end and wondering what exactly happened. And as usual Meryl Streep is goooood!

A weird story but in a very interesting way, with quite a bit of funny moments. Some reviews mentioned it was too draggy but I thought every phase was meaningful and relevant. IMO - Warning: Don't drink too much water coz you wun want to miss any part of this movie - 2.5hrs long. I held my bladder until bue tahan also still hold until the show ended coz I can't bring myself to leave my seat! One great movie not to be missed!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

Caught UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS last Sun at VivoCity while sending my Gboy for his monthly grooming.

I enjoyed the movie thou I heard reviews were not very good. I guess those who have watched Underworld 1 & 2 should catch this prequel.

Random joke to share:

A boss walked into the office one morning not knowing that his zipper was down, and his fly wide open. His secretary walked up to him and said, 'Boss this morning when you left your house, did you close your garage-door?' This was not a phrase that her boss understood, so he went into his Office looking a bit puzzled. When he was about done with his paper-work, he suddenly noticed that his zipper was not zipped up! He zipped it up and remembering what his secretary had told him, finally understood.

He then intentionally went out to ask for a cup of coffee from his secretary. When he reached her desk, he said, 'When you saw the garage-door open did you see my Jaguar parked in there?'

The secretary smiled for a moment and said, 'No, Boss I didn't. All I saw was a Mini cooper with 2 flat tires!'

TGIF everyone!
