10 Ways to Avoid Ghost in Hotel Rooms...

  1. Knock on door or press door bell before entering, meaning to ask for permission to stay there.

  2. When entering hotel room for 1st time, enter sideways so as to allow the 'dirty thing' to leave the room.

  3. Leave a pair of slippers (each facing opposite directions) at door entrance. 'Dirty thing' coming in will follow the slipper and go out.

  4. Place a glass of water and a pinch of salt at head of bed.

  5. Flush toilet bowl before using.

  6. Do not close the bible if it has been left open.

  7. Avoid wearing black & red clothings. Wear yellow clothings.

  8. Before sleeping, close toilet door & also switch off toilet lights.

  9. Don't sleep facing big mirror.

  10. Before sleeping, do not leave slippers together but each facing opposite direction to each other or in a messy way.

Beware of fake DBS website!

Something to be awared of if you are a frequent user of DBS iBanking, which most of us are...

Somebody's case
Last night at around 8:20 pm, I tried to log on to DBS internet banking.

I clicked on my Favorites and I was brought to the website below.

FAKE website

If you are a DBS i-banking user, you will readily notice that this website seems to be different as it is asking you for your DBS iB secure PIN right on the first page. Typically, you will only be asked for the DBS iB secure PIN after you have successfully keyed in your User ID and Password. In any case, since I did not suspect anything wrong, I keyed in the three numbers required. After I have entered the numbers, a new webpage appeared saying that I should wait for the SMS One Time Password (OTP). I waited for a few seconds and none came.

That's when I suspected that something was wrong. So I called up DBS hotline and I was told that the website below is NOT their website. So DBS immediately cancelled my i-banking services and verified that none of my monies were transferred.

When I used my home computer and my colleague's office computer this morning to log on to DBS again, thankfully I was brought to the right website.

I think that either my office computer or DBS' website (or both) had been compromised. In any case, I sent DBS a print-screen copy of the website as well as details of the URL. They said they will investigate. The customer service officer said that there are some cases similar to mine that have been reported to them previously.

Take heed everyone.. better to be safe than sorry...

Blood: The Last Vampire

Went for the Gala Premier of BLOOD: THE LAST VAMPIRE as our company was one of the media partners.

Releasing: 4 Jun 09

Saw Gianna (the Korean actress from "My Sassy Girl") in person during a short interview before the movie and she is super skinny. She seems shy and a little awkward.

Regarding the movie, not very impressive. Saya's classmate, Alice, never died after great falls and fights, even when came face to face with the supposedly most powerful vampire, Onigen (Alice was more Onigen than the real Onigen). Surprisingly the Onigen died faster... So uncanny. Very lousy graphics which made the movie looked damn stupid. If all the blood scenes were more real, the movie would turn out better. Not the best action bloody movie I had watched. I have to say the trailer had deceived my expectation on this movie.

Financial Crisis

Food for thought... How they are solving the financial crisis explained in lay man's terms:

It is August.

In a small town on the South Coast of France, holiday season is in full swing, but it is raining so there is not too much business happening. Everyone is heavily in debt.

Luckily, a rich Russian tourist arrives in the foyer of the small local hotel. He asks for a room and puts a Euro100 note on the reception counter, takes a key and goes to inspect the room located up the stairs on the third floor.

The hotel owner takes the banknote in hurry and rushes to his meat supplier to whom he owes E100. The butcher takes the money and races to his supplier to pay his debt. The wholesaler rushes to the farmer to pay E100 for pigs he purchased some time ago.

The farmer triumphantly gives the E100 note to a local prostitute who gave him her services on credit. The prostitute goes quickly to the hotel, as she owed the hotel for her hourly room use to entertain clients.

At that moment, the rich Russian is coming down to reception and informs the hotel owner that the proposed room is unsatisfactory and takes his E100 back and departs.

There was no profit or income. But everyone no longer has any debt and the small town people look optimistically towards their future.

COULD THIS BE THE SOLUTION TO THE Global Financial Crisis? Or, is there a catch here?

Angels & Demons

Caught ANGELS & DEMONS last weekend.

Overall not too bad but I would not say it's a great movie, which was my initial expectation. I guess I pinned too high hopes on this show. For those who do not know, this novel was published before The DaVinci Code, thou the movie sequence was reversed.

I think the book is a better bet.

Time of the year again...

It's the time of the year again.. PERFORMANCE REVIEW!

I totally and seriously hate this part of my work.. coz it's usually very subjective and IMO, it's never fair if you put into comparison... and cut the crap about an "OPEN" evaluation.

Appraisal sucks...

Secretary accidentally bites off boss' penis!

OMG! Happening or what!

A SECRETARY accidentally bit off the penis of her employer while giving him oral sex in a car.

Sin Chew Daily and China Press reported yesterday that while the 30-year-old woman was performing oral sex on the man, the car was hit by a reversing van.

The impact of the crash, China Press reported, caused the woman to bite off her lover's organ.

The daily reported that the incident occurred in a Singapore park where the couple met after work.

To make matters worse for the woman, her husband had sent a private investigator to spy on her after suspecting that she was being unfaithful.

The investigator said he had followed the woman and her boss to the park.

'On reaching the park, they did not alight from the car. Not long after, the car started to shake violently. After the car was hit by the van, there was a loud scream from the woman whose mouth was covered with blood,' he said.

The woman later followed her lover to the hospital with part of the sexual organ.

The investigator, who called an ambulance to send the man to hospital, said that this was the first time he had encountered such an incident.

I wonder if "it" can be fixed and operated again... Gosh...

Visit to Page One Sale / Wolverine / Uninvited

Baby and I always love books sale so we went all the way to Kaki Bukit for PageOne Warehouse Sale last weekend and got some good stuff. The 7 books we bought were all on 50% off so our total bill was around S$120. Baby's books were more expensive and mine, after discount, was only less than S$10. Totally worth it!

From the books you can tell I'm a super dog lover :P

Since we were already at the east part of the island, we decided to head down to Tampines One and check out Uniqlo. The crowd was not that bad, at least without a Q outside the shop now. I heard the merchandises were not great but we managed to grab some cool apparels.. overall I think their range was OK but not great (I think HK still carries better Uniqlo items).

Caught X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE on the same weekend and free screening of THE UNINVITED yesterday.

I personally thought it was quite good based on the movie itself but Baby said the it is very different from the comic. So I guess those X-Men fanatics will not think this show is great and mayb that's why the reviews were very bad..

IMO, this is more of a thriller than horror show. It was rather predictable thru out until the end caught me by surprise. However after much analysis of the various scenes that leads to the ending, I thought it was a little gimmicky. The thrill effects were there but definitely did not meet the standards of a horror movie. Forgettable...

Tks Kyori for sharing this video.. It is so heartwarming :)

Have a good week ahead :)
